This camp is an exciting new topic every day of the week!
Monday: Living on Mars – NASA is proposing to send astronauts to Mars in the mid-2030s and eventually to establish a permanent human colony. Investigate the real challenges these space pioneers will face and “fly” to Mars using our Starry Night program!
Tuesday: Survival Science – Do you have what it takes to survive in extreme conditions? Find out as you learn how to build a shelter, sanitize water, and participate in an orienteering competition
Wednesday: Explore the “A” in STEAM – Get in touch with your inner artist as you explore the A in STEAM during this creative camp! Campers will learn about the importance of art as they explore color theory with a color spinner, make their own scratch art, and ‘paint’ with unique materials during this day of creative fun!
Thursday: High Tech Treasure Hunters – Technology and treasure - could there be a better combination? Treasure hunters will use computer programming, GPS technology and orienteering on a quest for hidden treasures. They will get field experience using their technological skills and then find and plant geocaches on the Air Zoo grounds
Friday: Materials Science – Why do some materials work better for building airplanes, spaceships, and houses than others? Explore various scientific possibilities, and then test your own theories while experimenting with polymers, metals, ceramics, and composite materials using various forces and types of energy.
